Just curious, but does a player's favorite clubs affect his chances of signing for one of those favorite club's rivals?

Also, if he were to play against a favorite club's rival while playing for a different side, would it count for anything?

this wont answer your question but, do you know, if you spend a long time at a club, do they become one of your favoured club.
i have never been at a club long enough to find out

AFAIK, your favoured clubs never change. I've been manager of Wigan for 35 years now, and they're still not listed in mine.

As for players favoured clubs, it has no effect on whether they'll sign. I have quite a few players who favour my Lancashire rivals in my side, and they never play better or worse against them or their other rivals.

I've even played as Celtic and bought players who favour Rangers, so I'm gonna say it has no discernable effect.

yes they do, especially the ones that have you as theri personal favourties as well, i have made a couple players have brighton as their favourite club ie danny haynes
