From not converting enough chances the 8.02 patch has just gone crazy. My last 4 games before the patch were 2-0, 6-0, 1-1 and 1-0. The 4 I have played since the patch have been 2-4, 3-0, 3-2 and 4-2.
25 yarders are now a speciality, In my 4-2 win I bagged 3 with Dean Ashton grabbing 2 and Scott Parker (Finishing stat 11) grabbed a beauty from 30 yards
The thing that is really annoying me is that the keepers and that is both mine and the Al's don't save anything unless it's straight at them. Any diagonal shot or 25 yarder sails in with the keeper rooted to the spot!!
And whilst it may be my tactics has anyone else noted that the opposition score from nearly every corner they take?!
Yeah I have the same problem. In the 8.0.1 patch, I struggled to get goals but it really wasn' a big problem, but now I score way too much, but concede the same rediculous amount. Even when playing low league clubs in friendlies, I score 5 goals, but they score 2 on 2 shots. The goalkeepers just don't move for any diving saves, its like they are afraid to dive. I also noticed that they don't hold on to the ball unless the ball is a floater.
I like the patch, the game is better, but this goalkeeper thing is a real problem.
As for the corner one, I haven't had too many corners scored against me.
Agreed... Im playing right now against Middlesbrough and I tied it at 1 a piece right off the restart they score from long range and my keeper didn't even make a move. Also it is very true about keepers not hanging onto the ball.
Although I always hated people here who say "it's your tactics", this time I'm afraid that I will say the same thing to you guys.
In terms of the amount of goals scored, this patch is the most realistic one so far. With my Leeds team, I play a somewhat attacking 4-4-2 at home and against weaker teams, and a version of 4-1-4-1 on the road, mostly. So far in 9 league games I scored 13, and conceded 5.
The ratios for AI teams are close to mine too. So, in this case, I think you guys score more and concede more simply because you play more attacking style football, paying less attention to defense.
Dude I play a defensive style of play with Spurs. Im not saying anything about the realism of the goals Im talking about my goalkeeper not moving to at least attempt a save. That is my gripe. Not realism or tactics.

With due respect that's absolute tosh! You don't have any tactical option to "ask a keeper to dive" or not. Any shot that is from a wide area or is a screamer will go in the keepers haven't dived once in the games I have played with 8.02. It seems SI have got round the "one on one" problem with reducing most players stats and making goal keepers useless.
As for the stats thing I have Anton Ferdinand without any light blue stats now and he was one of my best players in 8.01!
i dont agree that the keeper doesn't move. i believe the keepers no longer perform heroics by diving full length across the goal line but can be decieved by the flight of the ball.
but at the same time the keepers do dive full length and do stop shots.
there does seem to be more shots hitting hte cross bar and posts though. and its the first time i've seen the keeper full length to tip a shot on to the post.
