Is there any way to uninstall the patch without uninstalling the whole game?

Reason is that I'm struggling to get the FM modifier to work with my old saved game so I wanted to restore it to its pre-patch form. When I get bored with this saved game I will reinstall patch, though.

You'll need to completely uninstall and reinstall the game then - the patches modify the exe files and it's not possible to roll those back.

Now that Ive done that apparently the game can't be loaded, which I understand has no cure, regrettably. So I'll just start again with 8.0.2.

If you saved the game using 8.0.2 then you need to have that installed to load it.
