Substitutions creates pitch-events that sometimes leads to goals
I always substitute when nothing is happening, i.e. only the time ticks forward, no 2d match events. I hit pause, make my subs and hit apply. Instantly, I am taken to the match view (2d view) while waiting for my subs to come on. Sometimes the players are just passing the ball and I get the grey "tactical changes" bar (subs come on). BUT, once in a while something do happen! I have had players being injured and because I am waiting for my three subs to come on, nothing can be done about that (I am down to 10 men), and I have had the opponents score. This is very annoying. I think the way the match engine handles subs must be looked into.

I think you should read what I write over again. The problem is that the match enginne switches to "pitch-action" when I want to substitute. In that mode, anything can happen. It is frustrating to concede a goal just because you initiated a substitution.

low fat has a point about the 3 subs thing, because in real life, if a manager has got 3 players ready to come on for the 3 poorly performing players and then one of the playing well players becomes injured, he wud have to rethink very quickly etc to make sure that the injured player is off, on fm you cannot re think

the subs don't create pitch events.
if you look at the fact that there is no 2d stuff happening, you go to the substitution screen and you'll notice a smaller pitch where something is happening. this is because something is happening. it's just not deemed to be a highlight if your playing with only the highlights showing.

The injury stuff is minor. The fact is that bringing on subs will make the game show me highlights. When I lead by 2-1 against Chelsea in the 80th min. and my def mid is down to 63% fitness I want to change him, but if I do, the game will show me a highlight and then anything can happen. So Chelsea can indeed score if I make a sub! Perhaps I am just freaking out here, but to me, that shows that substitutions create a highlight that can lead to goals (I see that there are a few ifs here, but still...)

I think I have the real problem a couple of times I've been into the substitution screen a goal would be scored however when I exit it the goal would have been canceled. Disallowed goal or strange bug? Never been able to figure out.
