Honestly, like everyone is saying it can't be that hard to implement a function so that it's possible for the user to collect pictures and edit everything in an xml file. My guess is that it wouldn't take an awful lot of valueable bug-fixing time.

There are lots of fan sites out there who are more than glad to make background packs for everybody who's interested to download. I know for sure that I myself would make a couple in a matter of days.

Thats the point, it does not improve the way the game plays. It improves the way the game looks. Yes the way the game looks is very important but the more crucial element is a game that plays well.

There was no way that this would be added in a patch because a patch fixes issues that give game play problems. No background pics is undesirable but not a problem. Even in other things there are no new 'features' as such in the patch.

FM06 you never know but not before.

I have thousands upon thousands of stadium background pics from all of the english leagues (inc Conference), the majority of the scottish leagues and the top two divisions and some below of the major leagues in Europe, not to mention the other teams around the world - and its all going to waste...

I'd be happy to share all these background pics with someone, if they can get this thing going at all...

There will be no background patch.

It wasn't given priority as we didn't ship with background images so there was no need to have code in there for changing backgrounds (the whole system changed from our previous game so a lot of coding would need to be done to enable background changes).

Most of the user interface team have not been actively working on the patch and only making 'essential' fixes when needed, which this is not.
