I know you're taking the ****! There's a find function here. Why not type in 'latest update'. You'll find a bunch of n00bs like you have asked the same question lately.
Why don't people do a check for threads before posting?
It's a vicious circle.
At the end of the day it's up to the user to use his or her head. Also, veterans tend to miss the stickies. For example, I rarely look at the stickies and see when the last post was, except maybe if it's in the SI Affiliates Forum as well.

I agree with what you said Dan but it will at least cut it down a bit...as for the last 2 days 5 or 6 threads asking same popped up without being closed...and search wasn't needed as they were all on the 1st page
I think part of the problem is that when a forum is this popular and generates this much traffic, the find function can end up returning loads and loads of results, many of them not helpful.
I think a sticky topic in this forum with a few URLs of data updates would be a great idea, I bet its one of the most popular reasons for people to check out this particular forum?
