right i've downloaded the FM Finland update from http://www.thedugout.net and Rarred it to the db file but when i try to start a new game fm just closes what shall i do? (im sorry if this is in the wrong forum)

What version of FM are you using?
Also, did you back up your current db?

Upgrade your game to 5.0.5. That's likely the problem.
