Pre-game editor (which mean you need to start a new game everytime you modify a new game):

CProgram Files\Sports Interactive\Football Manager 2005\fm data editor.exe

and the user guide:
CProgram Files\Sports Interactive\Football Manager 2005\fm_data_editor_guidelines.pdf


There is as well Real time Editor

A utility which enables the user to see ability stats and values without the need to load up the game itself or the editor.

in the startup menu selict sports interactive the option to click on editor will be given
once the editor loads up you need to load the database via the file button on the top of the page the file is called server_db this may take some time depending on the spec of your machine
once this has loaded all the options are listed along the side of the screen like the game screens
ie. to edit a player first select "person" then use the search bar to find your desired player to edit below player the list of items you can edit are listed eg contract attributes details, etc
you can also create a player by selecting edit button and clicking create player this is true for some other choices like stadiums
after editing back to file and save database


IT IS ADVISABLE TO MAKE A BACKUP OF SERVER_DB TO ENSURE YOU CAN RETURN TO THE ORIGINAL DATABASE IF ANY PROBS OCCUR THE EASIEST WAY TO DO THIS IS "START, MY COMP., HDD, PROGRAM FILES, SPORTS INTERACTIVE, FM2005, EDITOR DATA, DB, AND THEN MAKE A NEW FOLDER AND DUPLICATE SERVER_DB AND PLACE IN THIS NEW FOLDER FOR FUTURE USE
