Hi Martpoom, it's a nightmare to start with isn't it? No hand-holding for beginners here. Anyhow there dosen't seem to be a "fm editor for dummies", I couldn't find one anyway, but I've just started playing with it so here's a couple of pointers.
1: go to the editor, on pc's it's something like programme files, si games and it's got it's own start button.
2: Load a database, click file in top left, there'll only be one at the beginning labeled default.
3: under edit there's options to create clubs, players, grounds etc. A player is a good place to start so lets make a new you.
4:It'll bring up a details page with unique ID. You can't change this so don't try.
5: Fill in your name. Pretty obvious, the 'common name' is for a nick-name like 'Pele' you can leave it blank if you like.
6: Nation/City. Tick these and click the magnifying glass, This opens a search window. Type in the nation/city you want and then (big important bit) click the filter button.
7: This brings up a filter window with lots of fields you can completely ignore. Just click ok.
8: This takes you back to your search window, now with a list of cities or countries. Click on the one you want to highlight it and click ok.
9: You should now have your city/nation of birth listed. congratulations, have a beer.
10: Go to the pub. Actually this isn't strictly necessary here but it's gone ten & it's what I'm going to do.
TOP TIPS.
That filter button, it looks optional but it isn't (always). Baffled me for ages that did but maybe I'm thick.
REALLY IMPORTANT.
when you're finished/lost go to file and SAVE AS.
NEVER SAVE AS DEFAULT, give it any name but not that. I have test 1 to 14 so far.
I'll be back tomorrow to see if I've helped or can help any more, oh and have fun.
