It's working fine for me 'till now. I'm in the end of first season in england and my game is 48mb.

For the people who say its working, did you use the patch then start a new game or is it still working with saved games.

check if your save games are compressed

could people clarify this?
I don't want to installed 8.0.2 if it doesn't work for me as the beta version has been running ok so far

It works with 8.0.2.
Here is what you got to do.
In the"Preferences" screen untick "compress save games" option and save your game.
It works perfect.

Yep, works for me as well. Amazing!
I have patched up with 8.0.2 and started a new game with *that* database.
