I dont know if I have found anything with the team talks, but I am having great success with the following : - Before the game tell the players to "Do it for the fans", if this option is available at half time say it again, if it isnt available dont say anything.

Didn't test this but IMHO it's a bad idea to NOT TO talk to your team on half-time - of course, as the in-game tips tells, occasional exception in this may be prove to be a game-winner. But in general, I ALWAYS talk to my players, no matter what.
