does anyone know if the tactic for scoring from corners works in fmo7, the one where you set all your players to stand on far post except one player who is outside area and they score lots of goals, its just i tried it but nothing happens for me the players dont do what i tell them. has anyone else tried it please?
Yeah, that won't work on FM07, simply because the game now bunches together people in the same positions and basically nullifies their effectiveness. If you have two tall centre-backs and a player (preferably a DMC) with good long distance shooting ability then try this: Have one centre back attack the near post and the other challenge the 'keeper. Have everyone else apart from your fullbacks attacking the ball from deep, and your DMC who you set to lurk outside the area. This has yielded pretty good results for me so far. Unlike FM06, the bloke on the edge of the box doesn't score all the goals but instead you get a spread...i get a lot of goals from people attacking from deep and from near post headers from my big centre back.
I have tried quite a few versions so far, with limited success. I am currently trying this version, since my own don't seem to work with FM 07 3 games not a single corner... can you believe it??
well, after half a season of using this version (roughly with the odd modification), corner taking set to "mixed", I have limited success of direct goals, but the danger caused by the corners is severe. I always got discouraged because a defender would get on the ball first and head it far out of hte box. This is not happening anymore and I mostly get the ball one way or another, many times there is havoc in the box.
Am quite happy with it. The biggest danger of running into counter attacks is also taken by that.
DR - stay back
DL - stay back
DC - attack far post
DC - attack near post
MR - forward
ML - forward
MC - stand on far post
MC - challenge keeper
Stiker - Lurk Outside area
Target man - stand on near post
If I remember correctly, it involved setting corners to 6 yard box, and then picking out your 2 best headers and setting them to attack near post and attack far post, keep 2 defenders back and set everyone else to lurk.
