History, actually.
Arsenal's season so far is a prime example of a team that has loads of shots but lets goals in on the one or two attacks the opposition gets - Villa, Everton, Manchester City, Middlesborough...

The super keeper thing is a myth. If you look at each of the shots you get, you'll see why you're missing. Sometimes it's bad luck, but a lot of the time it's from shooting from the wrong place, out of form strikers, hitting it straight at the keeper rather than into the corners...

I'll admit tactics are frustrating and a lot of the time there seems no rhyme nor reason to what goes on, but if you take the time to look at the games you'll see that the problems become easy to notice.

My problem is that I usually have no bloody idea how to fix them . Should've ditched the History degree and done FM.

Millie: I wasn't having a go at you, well not intentionally, it's just the frustration of FM getting to me sometimes.
If you or anyone can work around these problems then well done to you. I feel that theres loads of us, myself included, that seem to be out of our depth with FM 07. We love the game so we keep perserving and then it just gets us down!

I hated '06, there were so many issues with the match engine which is the key part of the game. of course, coming to the developer's forum to let them know how poor it was resulted in nothing more than my posts having to be read (as this one will be) by a mod before being placed on the main board. Democracy isn't dead folks.

Now, with 2007, we see all the same problems as before, only this time they've had a year to change the way the game's played. SI haven't. Feedback on this forum is something of a misnomer as SI's response is akin to doing nothing more than sticking one's fingers in one's ears and going "LALALALALA!"

Vote with your feet and buy a different game.

i found its all 2 do with rhythm and the amount of time u stick with tactics...if u constantly rotate ur side and drop players who have good morale then inconsistency results...

I have read across the forums about the amount of people who are struggling with this game.
I have to agree that the match engine is a lot tougher to crack than the last version. In 06 i found that my own tactic with my liverpool dominated the fair share of silverware but is redundant in this version. I dont think that the game is flawed its just harder to develop a more succesful tactic which allows a team to go on runs of thirty games unbeaten.
Irl if you take a look at liverpool this season then the game engine for me has practically mirrored the fortunes of my favourite club. Tactics on their own will not just win games then you need to consider players, training, staff and morale. As i have read Cleon state in another thread "this is a football manager simulation" and in real life how many managers go on spectacular thirty game unbeaten streaks and win six trophies in a season??
Guys im in no way flaming anyone but am getting a bit fed up of reading a tactical thread only to find half a page down someone dissing it cos they havent won eighty games on the trot and the CL.
Take note of whats being brought to light in the various threads and adapt them top your teams weaknesses, thats what im tending to do.
Sure its a frustrating game but your all on here discussing it so you must all be still playing it!!!!

This is Exactly my Problem.

Any Tactic works in Pre-Season. Then the league comes and they play like Titus Brambel and Boumsong.

This game is sh!t, I hate it. Why cant I beat sh!t teams?? I know more than most on these boards but even I cant get consistent results. Why oh why have they made it sooooo complicated???

The game is a joke and until they sort it out I am never buying another FM game ever. I have 6 friends who love cm/fm but all have gave up playing it because its no fun anymore!
