Tactics & Training Tips

It's no use having a squad full of star players without a decent way for them to play their football.

Default Creative Freedom in 8.0.2

Has anyone yet came to any conclusion if 8.0.2 has fixed the issue of too many long shots being taken if a player is set to a reasonably high Creative Freedom?

I'm just looking through the match engine fix list and the only note concerning CF in this patch is...

Quote:
- Reworked effect of "creative freedom" slider on player flair attribute
This leads me to believe the issue has not been resolved, SI acknowledged the issue but this to me is not a description of a fix for it.

I have seem a lot less long range shots when its set to rare since the new patch. I think this has nothing to do with it

Long shots was discussed. We all had different opinions. The two abiding ones were:

a: too many players have long shots PPMs and will do it no matter the instruction

b: players are forced to take long shots due to having no passing options

I think that excessive CF leading to too many long shots was discounted as a reason.

Hmm...that's interesting wwfan, as it was PaulC I believe who stated that CF was one of the causes of this so called long shots bug.

Both wwfan's reasons stand, as well as a creative freedom factor which should now be reduced.

it still causes a lot of long shots i think, only difference is, we get a lot more 30 yard screamers with the patch rather hopeless shots that fly over the bar
