Man Utd already in front...Iv'e seen enough.

Anyway how many of you use scouts,do you find them usefull and who do you rate as good scouts,obviously this is a question to anyone who has downloaded the new patch.

I play as West Ham,Glasgow Rangers or Swansea City.I'm looking for a good scout but its hard to tell who to rate and who not too.
Iv'e never seen a scout with a history of finding a new player so how can we tell if he is any good.

Well when coming in to a new game they might not seem that useful, especially as most players have narrowed down who they want to bid for and know if they'll be able to get them before they've even started a game.

However after several seasons in the same game they become quite handy, especially with regens. Yes, you can figure out who to buy with a filtered search but if, like me, you play with attribute masking then Scouts are an absolute must in determining who to grab after several seasons.

Yeah I always use attribute masking mate.
I like the idea of finding the next 15yr old Ronaldo after several seasons.

There does not seem to be a way on knowing how good a scout is at his job..no history nada.
Granted his JPA and JPP may look good but a fistfull of 20s dont mean jack if his hiddens are naff...or is there something I'm missing here? :o

Staff hiddens dont affect scouts, they affect managers and coaches. It doesn't matter how good a scout is at media comments, or how much he rotates his squad, or what his business purchases are like.

You look at his JPA and JPP for ability to rate players. Adaptability for how quick he'll get used to a country. Determination has some relation to sheer number of players found, I think. Hiddens don't come into it.

They do have current and potential ability has hidden stats...just wondering if its the same with players.It dont make much sense to have a hidden ability rating if it isn't used.

Obviously its hard to get those scouts with the teams youve listed. The best way to find good scouts is to go Staff Search then choose Scout as Staff Role and turn on Filters for Judging CA and Judging PA ... Start with 20 for each and get lower. You'll find good ones.

CA and PA doesn't mean that much for players either. It's just a hardcap on how many stats they can develop. Some players will have a very low CA/PA and still be good because all their stats are heavily focused into what they need to do.

Examples being Matt Hill, Briand, Delgado, Marcus Williams, Cana, and roughly half of Romania.

Ahh...so basically if a scout has 20 in JPA and JPP thats all they need to be half decent.

I guess its just down to watching a player over the course of a few seasons.
