Money isn't an issue as I've flogged alot of dead wood, and not really spent all that much. It doesn't need to be an immediate replacement, just someone that can step into his shoes in future years and be as effective.Scholes has been amazing for me this season despite me starting the season with Carrick and Anderson as first choice Cm's he has worked his way back into my XI and he is undroppable.

My midfield currently is Hargreaves, Anderson, Scholes, Banega, and Carrick... I've heard that Matias Fernandez can be a great replacement but he's akyward in that CM position for me. I've been looking at Van der Vaart but I don't think he would be half as effective as scholes...

Any Help?

If money isn't an issue then get Messi. I've been playing him as AMC and he's been in great form. Can be used on either wings too if injuries hit.

Van der Vaart is actually pretty dangerous when played correctly. But why don't you buy another MC instead of a AMC, because i'm pretty sure that you've got a replacement in Anderson, he's world class from the get-go and just gets better.

Toulalan is one of the best midfielders in the game and his playing style is similar to Scholes.
Other options: Miguel Veloso - excelent defensive midfielder or Mathieu Bodmer - all-round midfielder.
