Default Screen settings.

When I untick full screen a message comes up saying make sure your system supports these settings and goes back to full screen. Is there a way to get around this??

Several ways.

1) Set your windows resolution to a setting above 1024x768.

2) Set FM to be played in small screen mode.

If number 1 isn't possible then have a read through some of the threads on the first couple of pages here as number 2 was discussed earlier today with the solution.

Here's a link to one from last month. Please read through to the end first as some of the info at the start can be a little misleading.

Firstly you need to create a shortcut to the Cprogram files\sports interactive\football manager 2008\fm08.exe file on your desktop.

After doing so, you need to right-click the shortcut icon for FM08 (which you just created) and select properties from the pop-up menu.

A box will appear on which there is a textbox with the title Tartget:

In that box overwrite everything with the following text:-

"CProgram Files\Sports Interactive\Football Manager 2008\fm.exe" --small_screen --windowed

This assumes that FM was installed to the CProgram Files\Sports Interactive\Football Manager 2008 directory. If it was installed anywhere else, you need to change the text to match.

Make sure FM isn't running when you do this (although it won't stop you from doing it, you have to start the game again for the change to happen).

1) Open My computer.

2) Double-click the icon in there titled C:

3) Double-click these other folders in turn:-
a) Program files
b) Sports interactive
c) Football manager 2008

4) In that folder you should find a file called FM08.exe, you need to create a shortcut for it on your desktop.

5) To create a shortcut, drag that file to your desktop whilst holding the Alt key down.

6) Follow the instructions in the previous post.
