Anyone else running vista and getting this error message when trying to patch using 8.0.2

"error creating update file C..\..\..\data editor.exe. Error 0x00000020 process cannot access file as already in use by another process"

Tried restarting pc and patching as an administrator, neither makes any difference. FM08 is not running whilst trying to patch but 8.0.2 still refuses to work, every single attempt without fail.

Looks like I'm back to FM2007 in the short term!!!

Only bought the game today so I thought I'd go straight to 8.0.2.

Guess I'm gonna have to spend another couple of hours downloading 8.0.1. and wait for someone far cleverer than me to figure out what the problem is here with 8.0.2.

ok, working now - 8.0.2. has installed. :cool:

How?

1. Temporarily disabled on access scanning function in my anti virus programme.
2. Switched off my anti spyware software whilst installing patch.
3. Switched off auto scanning option in windows defender @ tools>options and changed all 'default actions' to ignore.

Don't know which one or if all made a diference but the patch now installs ok. Hope this helps any others with a similar problem.

Did you have the editor open when you tried to install earlier?

Not knowningly Trebor.

Had nothing open but 8.0.2 but had anti virus, anti spyware etc running normally. Changing these settings is the only different thing I did and 8.0.2 then installed fine.
