I have thought about this throughout the past season and would like to see if anyone else is in agreement. First off I would like to state I loved it when Prefered moves were able to be passed from player to player. (although it does seem like I am having trouble finding a real tutor for my youth). Although I believe that PPM's should also come from your coaching staff as well. The exact formula I am not going to get into, but basically each coach has a tendancy to teach players certain things, although not all players pick up these moves.
Here is kind of a idea of what I am talking about.
Coach #1 (midfield coach)
Dictates play 20
Tries killer balls 15
Holds ball up 8
Argues with officals 14
Now he might also have a undesirable PPM involved too which might make him less interesting to teams.
Along with this each player should have a tendancy toward learning certain PPM's. i.e. not all players are going to want to push forward or make late runs. This means that with the right coach they maybe pick up the skill, but probably not. Also they may just be tempermental enough to have the tendancy to argue with officals, or to wind up the opponent. So what do you think? Daft idea, solid idea, great idea?
Sorry kind of tired here, so perhaps I rambled on a bit, so forgive me
The idea that PPM's should be able to be coached into players' skills has been raised before, was quite popular, and I'm not surprised that others keep getting the same idea every now and then, as this would definitely improve FM.
I don't think you need to have coaches with specific skills though, that might be going too far. All you should need to do is ask a coach to spend a month (for example) with a certain player, to practice a PPM so he makes it his own. Then the coach can move on to another player. Like extra-training if you will. A coach staying behind after normal training with a player, to practice shooting long, like what Beckham does, or used to do, etc.
I really don't like the way it is now, where players can only obtain PPM's through tutoring, since there might be a particular PPM you wish the young player to have, but the ONLY older player who can teach him that PPM, in your team, turns out to not get along with the younger player, LOL. Frustrating, and can be improved. Hope it will be.
