Well done SI on the patch - at least from what I have played so far it seems quite good! Thank you.
I know that there is another thread concerning this problem but I thought it would be useful to start a new one dedicated to it because it seems to be intertwined with something else...
There is something that is rather confusing me. In 8.0.1, I noticed that if, in the data editor someone had a stat of say, 17, for dribbling, then it would be a bit higher in the game itself. I've just discovered that this was intentional - in order to add a "random element" to the game. This would mean then that all players would fall under it, correct?
In the new game it seems that some people are unaffected, some players are seriously affected adversely and some people are grossly overestimated... some might say that this should be posted in the data forum but I think this is more something for the overall game. For example someone like Ronaldo who is arguably the world's best player right now is being portrayed as being inferior to Elano - realistic?
I'd like to ask - why was the random element taken out of the game? Players like Tevez and Rooney are being portrayed almost as Championship players. A lot of teams are almost having half of their talent wiped away because of this big drop in attributes.
I should point out that I haven't gone too far yet in my new game so I'm not sure if training would bump the stats back up - but even if it did I'm sure the change wouldn't be drastic enough to increase the stats to what they were pre patch, which, in my opinion, were very realistic and well done. Anyone know about this yet?
I've started up a new game on the 8.0.2 patch and haven't pressed continue yet. I'm just looking at player attributes in different teams and I have to say I'm disappointed. Some players' attributes seem to have been massacred.
Was hoping to see an improvement in Hleb for example, and yes his pace and acceleration has gone up slighty, along with his anticipation and decisions, but his creativity, passing and everything else has dropped.
Micah Richard's positioning is now 7. It was always pretty low on 10 or 11 but now it's ridiculously low.
And then you have Elano which is the opposite. Weird.
I think there has to be an issue which for some reason affects certain players (a lot of of players in fact) negatively.
I have another game where I haven't pressed continue either and, like you, I've just been looking at players' stats and some of them are quite bizarre - Kuyt is unchanged whereas Rooney has been dumbed down to almost half the player Kuyt is - this confuses me to no end.
To Sussex Hammer - I have not experienced this in my previous save game which I have had from 8.0.1, unlike some other people. Although perhaps it might come in because I've only played around 2 weeks (game time). Though I must say - Hibbert and Johnson's stats have fallen by one but then again they have turned 30 so I'm hoping this is just a coincedence.
I must disagree with OP. IMO stats are much more realistc now. I'm not claiming for every player (like ronaldo). I'll try to explain why on rooney example. probably we all had games before 802, where he scored way too much. in my game he actualy had 1 goal per match!? now that was realy weird to me, becouse he's not born scorer like etto or trezeguet. you must look at the whole picture on stats. player who's got work rate, staamina, off the ball, anticipation, composure, technique all over 16 is an exellant player and he's gonna score lots.
anyway, database will never be perfect, due to subjective judgment. and that's why there's editor. I've put more effort on my database then on actually playing the game. and I'm quite happy with it.
But then you have players like Elano, Ibrahimovic, Kaka, Messi and Silva?
Is that realistic? To have all of those overrated and players like Rooney, Tevez and Ronaldo grossly underrated? I agree that Rooney scored an awful lot before this patch but his stats reflected what I believe he has in real life.
I only looked briefly at Leicester's players on 8.0.2 last night, and in comparison to 8.0.0 they look quite similar from what I remember, apart from DJ Campbell whose attributes have dropped massively. One or two others have maybe suffered slight drops, but overall remain similar.
On the attribute drop as a whole I have to applaud SI, although I've not played a minute of the game with the patch yet (Apart from my quick browse last night). I've long thought attributes are too high, and dropping them down a notch can only be a good thing.
