hey guys, ive been trying to edit my game using the proper pre game editor, i save it and all that, but every time i try to start a new game with the updated files, it comes up with an error. any insight into this?

fm has caused an unkown error, or something like that. ive tried re-installing the game but i know its the updated files because when i put the back-up files back in it works fine.

I got the same problem as you do. Have you edited any information regarding Awards or Competition?? I think it's coming from there all the problem. Am trying to revert everything back as it was.

What version of the editor are you using?

the same version as the one released with the game. ive just installed the patch, so im gonna see if that makes any difference.

I have the same problem. I was trying to clear all players/staff, increase reputation and money and set the city attraction to 20 and it did this.

After reverting to backup copies of the db several times I tried to just open the editor, change middlesbrough reputation to 8500, saved and exit...and it still wont let me start a new game without the error report.

I have the patch installed as well, wish mcm could edit team reputations...one thing I actually need the built in pre game editor for and it wont work =/

Is that windows 98 yik? I dont get that error, just says a critical error and asks if I want to send an error report to microsoft etc etc. I'm on Windows XP sp2 though.
