Okay, I want to make a new club based on the players that would be in my school team. Therefore, I'd have to make the club and then make the players/staff as well, before swapping them with a League 2/Conference team.

I think I should be alright, but I was wondering if there should be anything I should know about doing so, since the editor is very, very laggy on my computer.

no editors quite easy to use so i dnt think you need advice but if you do just ask and yes editor is big so it will lag but its worth it

I've heard players aren't as good as you make them. Is this true?

its not lag, its processing power! Try adware scans (in safe mode if you can, remember to update first!!!) also virus etc and defrag! Do anything thats good housekeeping, remove unwantd programs etc. I have seen it improve the use of FM08 on my ancient laptop! i can now run smoothly (the peice of carp is over 7 years old!)

Its not that either, you make them and then set a current level of that, its obvious any player can imrove at something so not all attributes can be at their maximum! Just set the numbers to give the player a "flavour" I find that or making them an OK allrounder (13-17 at everything) makes a nice balanced player that isnt OTT. Base a flavour on a position or attitude for maximum realism.
