I've spent 6 seasons with Le Havre in the French second league when I finally got them promoted after a very good season in which I was outplaying every other team in that league and finished 1st by a mile.
Now I knew it would be more difficult in the first league but it is way harder than I imagined and frankly I'm not so sure why.
I've played 4 matches thus far, won one home match and lost the other 3 away matches soundly.
I am using the same tactic I've used for the second league which is this:
These are my instructions for the DC players:
My instructions for the WBL/WBR players:
Two examples of my players so you can see they are not that bad:
Now, my main problem is that I don't get how players with 12 finishing, 9 jumping, 15 pace manage to score hat-tricks against me.
I've been marking out players like this left and right in the second league yet now they seem to score every time they get a chance (not to mention my goalkeeper, who has excellent attributes everywhere and was my best player in the second league, is suddenly not able to stop anything).
I can accept players like Fred toying with my defence but I just don't get how the types of players I just mentioned are suddenly so lethal.
Players in this league also seem much more quick and agile yet one glance at their attributes reveal they are not that much better than the ones in the second league, in the aspect of physical ability.
As for how my team plays and possession of the ball, we seem to be doing O.K, usually having more possesssion than the other team and more or less the same amount of chances.
Does anyone have any idea what I should try and change?
are you chop and changing tactics? Players like consistency! have you got good coaches and what is your trainng like? also looking at the side you put out maybe playing defensive isnt your way! I extremely hope i have helped! Look at some of the training tips and see if they appeal to you! Tell me how you get on!
One of the hints and tips stresses the importance of timing when to use time wasting. Although from the off may suit your counter-attacking sty;e- who knows? So many damn variables to consider...

Well let me explain the problem I am experiencing.
For some reason, even thought I have 3 DC's and 2 WBR's which makes for a back five... the opposition strikers often find eachother free infront of goal.
This happens because my DC's keep chasing one of the strikers, and then he finds his mate with a brilliant pass and he's free.
I don't know why this is, I tried toying around with closing down so much, eventually I tried to make them tight man mark with no closing down but still they run after the other strikers and not just wait for them like I would want them to.
1. You have wing backs, with instructions that do not fit the position. No Forward Runs, No run with ball, You also have tight marking? why?
I would put Forward Runs on, Run with ball, and unclick tight marking.
2. Your Team Intructions also dont seem to match your positional play, i.e you positional is very wide, except you have Width set to normal, and you have passing set mixed.
Move slider to show width has wide, and focus passing to down both flanks.
Or other wise bring Slo and Hleb into a more central midfield role and use your wing backs to attack wide.
