Okay, I am severly struggling with this game, mainly with what to choose from these options:

Zonal or Man marking
Tight marking or not
Closing down or not


I prefer playing a back 4 with a DM in front of them. But I have no clue how to utilize these orders at best. I know theres no real answer to this, but at least some guidance would be highly appreciated. My main problem when it comes to these orders, is the oppositions wingers; even the lousiest are a threat to me, both with their crosses and being wide on set pieces.


Can someone enlighten me here, or give me some tips what to do, or better, what NOT to do, as in when to do what..... (sigh)

Many great tips for Closing down in those threads indeed!

But:

I still have to find out how I can counter the AI's wingers on the far side of my posts; When for example I am attacked by a dribbling winger on my right side, how can I counter the oppositions attackers on my left side? The AI seems to be a master to score these ways, and I am not.... Lots of times when I am under attack, theres an unmarked player (often the winger)on the other side of the pitch ready to bang in the cross.... This situation is the one I struggle the most with. How can I counter this?
