I've been toying with the idea of doing a bit of a statistical analysis of FM training. the idea is that if i look at the correlation between training improvements and the intensity of training as well as the ability of the coaches i will hopefully be able to arrive at a few conclusions.
the plan
Now this is where you guys come in as it would be a massive undertaking to play hundreds of holiday games. The plan is to release a spreadsheet where you can will input your players attributes at the start of the season, and then again 12 months later. you will then input into the spreadsheet the star ratings you have for each training area, as well as the intensity of your training regimes. finally you would then say which players were doing what training.
from this i will be able to compare training improvements and see how intensity, and coaching ability affect actual outcome.
omissions
Now i know this is forgetting a few major affects on training, such as injuries, the run of your season, how many games the players was involved in, as well as the players age and current and potential ability. this can be left for phase 2 though.
where next
A) ok i will need somewhere to put up the spreadsheet file
B) i will need volunteers to help with the experiment, the more the better, all you'd need to do is fill out the spreadsheet at the start and end of your season (shouldn't take more than 5-10 mins).
once i have the above i will be able to post up the instructions and file and we can go from there.
volunteers, questions, suggestions and feedback welcome
i've looked at stat graphs and it's clear that the stats do dip closed season, and then the obviously go through a spurt at the start of the season, so i guess it's best to compare stats from somewhere mid-season, maybe December time. it rules out summer drops, early season peeks. it's also at this stage of the season where there isn't a massive gulf in the games your players have played.
good idea but should probably wait till the patch comes out because I believe (and hope) there are some major changes going to be made in training
I did do something similar btw, took over as Man Utd, hired the best coaches in the world so had 5 stars for everything, and then went on holiday and checked back every 6 months for 3 seasons. was using a customized training schedule with workloads on the last notch of medium
except for Heinze, noone had any improvement over 3 years. Rooney's attributes actually went down inspite of not having any major injuries.
