A good little addition to FM2007 in my opinion is your assistant manager's feedback on the above. Of course exactly how this works is specualtive; so in my most recent season I kept an eye on the feedback page after every game, also to monitor my team talk technique.
In the aforementioned game I signed a whopping sixteen players pre-season. Unsurprisingly, my assistant informed me that my players had "not yet developed a good level of understanding." I had an inconsistent first six months, losing around eight matches. However, New Year came and went, and I noticed that now my players were "working well together." Two months later and I haven't lost a game since.
Of course this proves next to nothing, but I do believe that the blend of your side has a profound effect on your side. What's everybody else's experiences of this, and how do you think blend affects your team's performances?
PaulC said team belneding does effect stuff, and if you make a number of new signings, not to expect them to hit it off from the off.
Personally, I always felt this was the case anyways, but on FM07 its more visible and noticeable than other versions.
It makes sense that once a player gets 'working well together' its obvious he understand the players a little better. So surely this knocks on to reading the player and knowing how they act on the pitch.
Yeah- I'm not sure whether it's been amplified in this version, or whether it's the fact we now have an indicator that informs us of how well our players get on.
From what I've seen so far though it seems to work in tandem with my team's consistency, and that isn't an observation based purely on the season I described in my first post; it seems to ring true for all my games so far.

Perhaps team morale is influenced by team blend- maybe the stronger the bond amongst your players the less likely morale is to fluctuate.
I've just started a new game with Kettering, and just about replaced the entire starting XI.
My ass man has been telling me that there is a worrying lack of cohesion amongst the players.
Our performances in the pre season friendlies have been nothing short of shocking.
I still think this is a good feature though, and you couldn't realistically send 11 blokes who've never played together before and expect them to play as a team.
It certainly tests your resolve with regard to tactic tweaking though, as I love to tinker with my tactics, but I'm trying to resist making any changes until the players have gelled
I definitely think it has been amplified on this version, as most of my games on FM06 involved taking on a Conf North/South team, and invariably you need to make a lot of signings at the start of your first season, and on FM06 I seemed to be able to start getting decent results almost immediately despite all the new signings.
It will certainly make things more challenging when dealing with a newly promoted side, as the chances are you will need to sign quite a new faces which looks like it will lead to a patchy start to the season, which in turn will damage morale......

If you notice morale changes at half time in every game. Something which I think happens in real life too. Certain situations on the picth effect morale quite bad, FM seems to be this way too imo.

Id agree, it makes sense.

I think we now have an indicator of what's always been there in the game.
Indeed. I don't think its changed at all, however because people now have an indicator, they think it has been tweaked ot has greater effect. When in principle its still the same.
