Heya am starting my second season with Newcastle with the patch. I dont have much transfer budget (i.e. i spent it all...)
Can you please rate my team stating improvement or suggestions of who i should play in which position. The players in bold are the ones in the team...
Heya ok so how much have you got left to spend if u can afford van der vaart he would be a great signing if not go buy lulinha, piatti, jimenez, all amc alot cheaper than van der varrt but great also play Jose Enrique at l/b hes verry good and it would free up N'Zogbia to play in midfield also look for bogdan stancu s/c from romiania cheep at start like rest i said but all verry good buys go buy virea g/k from villareal great g/k also rene mihelic hes a left side midfielder or if u need a great c/b kompany/zapata from undinese expencive but good .Your team looks good though these players are more creative might help to play to your good pace up front with owen and martins .
Hope this helps abit m8 enjoy football

If you play N'Zogbia in midfield he gets labelled the next Zidane, would look at a better DM, Banega, Poulsen, De Jong would be good for that and not too expensive. Geremi is getting on a bit now you might want to replace him. Get Carrol starting as well from your youth as he is awesome once you start playing with him.

GKe Sanctis
RB:Seitaridis
LB:N´Zogbia
CB:Taylor
CB:Ignashevich
DMC:Geremi or Simao as MC
AMR:Walcott
AMLuff
AMC:Riquelme as Playmaker +all Freekicks+corners
ST:Owen
ST:Martins as Target Striker
Pretty good squad you have there m8.
Reminds me of my old Newcastle save.
But you need some natural LB.(N´Zogbia is more of a winger)
Get Marcelo from Real and play him as AML.
Other weak points maybe the CB positions and
the DM position.
Try to get some younger players for
Geremi,Simao,Kewell.(after the season)
If you have money get Ustari(GK),Chielini (LB),
Breno (CB).
Have fun and good luck.
For ST.JAMES

GK: De Sanctis, maybe get Bouzanis or another youngster to replace Given as backup.
RB: Seitaridis as first choice, rotate with AVB for experience, sell Geremi.
LB: Enrique, but buy Matt Hill as first choice. N'zog is a winger or wingback, he's a bit naff as an LB, and certainly not first choice.
CBs: Ignas/Taylor are good enough, sell both Rozenhal and Cacapa (not good enough and too old, respectively). Try and get Wes Brown if you want to keep it english, else Breno/Kompany providing they haven't moved, or Samba if he's still reasonable. Felipe from udinese is good too.
DMC: Maldonado is a great player, but why you sold Barton and Butt is confusing, they're far better than the cover you have now. Desperately need a backup here, Flamini would be great. Try and see if Manuel Coppola's value has shot up yet, he'll be great and might replace Maldonado in a season or two. Failing those, Mundingayi from Lazio or Fernando from Girondins Bordeux, providing they haven't left.
RM: Don't know who Simao is, but if you're playing them in an attacking winger role Walcott is solid. If they stay as wide midfielders, then you'll need backup here even if Simao's good enough. Ninis would be a good backup, but don't expect miracles from him. One for the future would be Assulin from Barca, if they're willing to let go. Milner would've turned out good had you kept him.
LM: Kewell, sell Duff, buy another winger. Marcelo's probably moved, but if not and if he'll come he's a great cheap midfielder for the future. Stuart Downing would be a quality buy, as would a 26 y.o. DL/AMLC from Internacional named Alex. Great player. But if you want to save money, use N'zog here because he's NOT a lb.
AMC: Riquelme is clearly your best player here, although by now he'll be getting on a bit, and needs to be replaced sooner rather than later. I don't think smith has the quality to do so. Danilinho, however, does. Start rotating him in, he'll take over from Riquelme soon enough. If you want another backup, get Carvalho or Arshavin. Mark Noble is a good token english choice, great AMC when retrained, but has a habit of blasting it when he should pass.
ST: Owen and Martins are clearly your best strikers, but wont be that way for long. By the time Owen hits 30, his legs start going, and smith/viduka will never replace him. Danilinho doesn't seem to get high enough finishing, so this needs drastic improvement. Get rid of Owen at the end of your third (maybe fourth) season, because that's roughly when his pace starts dropping like a stone. You need a good left footed striker, and odds are Pandev will long since have moved on. If you're lucky and he hasn't, buy him now. If you still have Andy Carrol, start rotating him in, he'll turn out great. You really need another left-footer and maybe an Owen replacement, so I'll reccomend Briand and Monnet-paquet or Ben Arfa. If you're looking short-term, you don't get much more value for money than Riki, who'll need to be phased out with Owen at around season 4, but until then will bang them home.
Hope that helps.
