Just a small one, but how about giving us an option to specify what squad status we expect our players to be given? When i offer Senderos out on loan, some teams offer him a place as cover, others as a valuable first team player. It'd be nice to make it clear when offering him out that i'm only interested in loaning him if he'll be first choice.
I like the idea but don't know how practical it is or reflective of real life. Do real life managers loan players with a clause stating they must play x% of games or will be recalled? Unless of course you mean give us the option of stating it, the AI manager agreeing but not necessarily following through on it once the player is officially on loan. Then we could comment on it in the media to put pressure on the manager whose response might depend on his personality and what our current relationship is.
Or am I way off the mark?
On a similar note with loans I have noticed how tricky the AI is in trying to loan players. First they ask for a player because they'll be first teamers but without a recall clause. As soon as I put the recall clause in they suddenly decide that the player will now be backup. The AI is a sneaky swine
Of course, the manager could lie... Perhaps this could even be reflected in his attributes...
But what i mean is we already get an indication of the sort of role a plaeyr will play when a loan offer comes in. They already tell us if they plan on using playerX as backup or as a first team regular. It'd be nice to be able to, when offering out, specify that we're looking for a team that will treat him as a regular. It'd just stop people who will openly tell us he'll be backup from applying.
Now i get you. So we have a selection point like clicking 'available for loan' except it explicitly states 'available for loan as a first team player'?
If that's what you mean then . Then it would act like the sale value thing for transfers and automatically reject loan offers that didn't stipulate the loaning club want the player as a first teamer.
Perhaps that, but my main point is that when we click "offer out player" then choose "for loan" we should be able to specify "For first team only" along with wage contributions, cup elligability, etc.
I didn't even know you could offer players out on loan . I really should start reading the manual when I get a new FM.
Now I know what you mean. Again . Seems a bit strange that they don't have it in there already. Makes me wonder about the whole mechanic of loaning players to AI teams.
 I want to be able to specify exactly the terms I want, duration, clauses, status, etc, when I "offer to teams". That way, I don't have to manually edit each term of each response. Plenty will match my terms, and those that don't I can reject.
Incidentally, while we're asking for things re: loans, I was trolling through replies to "offer for loan" the other day.
Can we get a "Club Profile" on the "loan offer" e-mail, kinda the same as we do for players?
Things I'd want to see are:
- league
- current league position (if season has started - last year's if season has not started)
- quality of facilities
- a one-word summary of quality of coaching staff (World Class, excellent, very good, good, average, fair, poor, semi-pro)
- Ideally, if they're replying to an "offer", one line "They met all your clauses" or "They did not meet all of your clauses".
- Ideally, a brief summary of other players at his position:
"Should start, as Joe Smith is nowhere near his quality."
"Will battle for playing time with three other players."
"Would be cover at best, considering Chris King is much better than he is."
It would really help for those of us who wind up fielding squads of 75+ players, who try to loan out 20-40 of them every year!
I meant I didn't realise you could use the same mechanism in FM in offering players for loan that you use when offering players to sell to clubs. I never read the manual and never clicked on the drop down menu in 'offer to clubs' so I didn't know you could select other options besides transfer.
