I would suggest rebooting and then installing the patch. If this doesn't work and task manager isn't showing it as running there is something else you could try. I'll post that if the rebooting doesn't help.
I am also encountering the same problem. file 43 and then file 47. to get over 43 i just delete the old data editor and it gets replaced. But i dont know what to do about file 47. i get same code as above.
Make sure you don't have Football Manager open or any applications that use the database such as the Data Editor or 3rd party applications like Genie Scout. If you don't then try rebooting the machine and trying again. If that still doesn't fix it and you are in Vista, try running the patch file you downloaded as an administrator by right clicking on the file and selecting "Run as Administrator".
I don't know Vista so if it's Vista related I don't know how to help you if this doesn't.
Open up task manager and see if it is currently running. I'm not 100% certain that there'll be no adverse effects from this so do the next step at your own peril. If dataeditor.exe is listed in the running processes the click end process. Now attempt to install the patch.
Try this as it might give a little insight. Start Tak Manager before you attempt to install the patch and keep it open. List the processes in aplphabetical order starting with A at the top. Don't minimise Task manager and attempt to install the patch. This should keep Task Manager to the foreground. Try to see if dataeditor.exe appears on the Task manager list after starting the installation, or if it pops up just before the error message occurs. It might happen very quickly so find where it would appear within your current process list in task manager and keep your eye focused there.
