Ok, it's like this. I haven't played the game with a patch. The game I was playing has now been ruined due to massive inconsistencies in terms of tactics working to the extent where it is basically impossible to continue without cvonstant frustration. I have tried tactic after tactic after tactic I have one that I used as Manchester United. I have a very good squad that is unquestionably been improved over the two seasons since the start of the game. They work really well and look good. Defensively solid, good attack and I go on a ten match winning run. Then they stop working almost instantly and I fail to win a game in the next ten. Even if they are against weaker sides at home. Not only that, I concede many from thirty yards during this time that seem unlikely given the calibre of player scoring them. Is a patch likely to help this situation if I start a new game? I'm not looking to win every game. But looking for some kind of consistency and realism. Is there are patch that will help this?

The patch will definately improve it. It limits the amount of long range goals, disallowed goals, closing down problems etc.

There are still some issues but i would definately advise getting the 8.0.1 patch even if the 8.0.2 is coming soon(ish).

I agree get the patch if you can it has improved my game a great deal, my gf wasnt that bothered but she too got frustrated with 08 out of the box but now she can play it without shouting at the comp screen! lol
