Default Background Image Question - not full screen mode

Hi, I've tried creating a background and i've named it default.jpg and replaced the grass image in the correct folder.

The size is 1024x768 and is fine when i have "Full screen clicked", however i dont play in full screen normally (i use 1280x1024), and when i do the image doesn't look very good as its being stretched.

Just wondering if there is any advice on how to get it looking the best (least distortion on the picture).

All help is much appreciated.

Kind Regards,

It seems pretty obvious. Make a new background image of the size you want (ie 1280x1024).

If you make the image 1024x768 then use it with a higher resolution then the image will of course stretch to fit the space and look distorted.

1280x1024 is also not in the same ratio as 1024x786 , its slightly wider in comparison, so that will of course make the image wider than it should be.

Well, in a window FM runs at a minimum of 1024x768. Background pics should look the same in there as it is not resized.

If you maximise the window, yes you wil have the menus and taskbar etc but it will be bigger. And at 1280x1024 it will still be wider format - even more so with the taskbar and top of the window.

The size of the picture should not change depending on what screen you are on. Try with a bigger picture and see what it is like.
