Australia in to Asia?

Would anyone be able to confirm exactly what changes they made for this work?

I changed Australia's confederation (not region) to Asia and changed Indonesia's confederation to Oceania.

I'm in January 2006, the Australian vs South American WCQ have come and gone (Australia losing 4-0 aggregate to Uruguay) and now Australia have started playing the Oceania nations cup. Still no change, maybe I have to wait for the next WCQ to start before it kicks in?

You must wait until after the World Cup.

It would be easier for everyone if a patch/update was done for the australian league only

Patch 5.05 has the A-League updated with Central Coast, etc.
