Tactics & Training Tips

It's no use having a squad full of star players without a decent way for them to play their football.

Just like to say there are no killer tactics for 2007 and anyone on this site looking for tactics on this site to download are wasting their time. This is the 1st game where tactics have to be employed by yourself based on the players u have at ur disposal. reading the manual will give u tips on how to setup however at lot more work needs to be done yourself. If u can't be bothered then you will will not win games.

(i was actually going in to write "aren't you in the wrong place?" but then i read your post and concur wholeheartedly.)

this game is not about tactics, its played with the sliders, game to game, situation to situation.

I think thats great. When the whole crack the tactic business came out in the first Football Manger version (FM3 right?) that got me thinking seriously about tactics, which i'm grateful for.

Now i'm grateful that you can get a basic formation and stick with it, as opposed to having to change near the end of the season, when all your opponents have got the hang of it, and "cracked it".

on a side trip. jimmi page was god by the way.

i think that people who use the "assistant manager does team talks" function are missing the point of what this game is all behind...

i miss the "man behind ball" of previous FM's

With this game I've found that I don't use "overall tactics" anymore, I have specific instructions all custom tailored for each and every player. The micromanagement part of the game is what I love best, and I like tinkering around before each match depending on the opposition rather than sticking with just one "killer" tactic every season.
