players with low passing attributes is it better to put on long passing or short. As manager of notts county i believe it is better for sh!t passers to be on longer passes but not sure as the manual dosen't clarify this.

pretty good question, I think. In my opinion, either one would be alright, long if you're playing with a good targetman and/or your team has good ability in the air. Short if you want to play either a slow tempo or a fast-paced game, and nothing in between.

At least that's what I do, and it seems to be working...

How often do u see def playing short balls in lower leagues in real life though?

Don't watch lower leagues in real life so can't really comment

Though the "top" division here in Singapore is laughable, at best...

playing a short passing game can be risky, I assume your playing in league two so i would recommend playing direct but probably not on the first notch of direct though, you say your players have poor passing but bear in mind passing of around of 10/11 is ok for this league,
