I am playing with Colcherster and having found a 4-3-3 tactic that works like a dream I went on a 16 game unbeaten run which proppeled me to second place in the table after 30 games. However, I have now lost 5 on the spin and am slipping back into the playoff places. I have not changed my tactics or my personnel. Any ideas how to stop the rot and regain my automtic promotion place?
Sounds like the AI scouted you and cracked your system. It happens. You might need to tweak it and also try adjusting your starting 11 to get a spark from someone. I'll often sit my best 2-3 players in a bad spell just to get some eager bench warmer a chance. Then bring in your star off the bench and see if that lights a fire somewhere.
I think a lot of people have more than 1 tactic either home/away or for just this occassion.

The AI doesn't "crack" your tactic. It just takes a different approach to you based on your team's achievement in the league. The most important thing now is to get your team's morale back. It's easier to win with good morale, then after a win, things will fall back in place :thup:
It's simple, when you start the game you will have a certain value for World, Nation etc. Rankings. If you over perform in your first season, by promoting, getting high averages etc. your Ranking will go up and have other teams approach you in a different way, and that's why the best option you have is to start playing another formation, or try tweaking yours from either counter to possession or vice versa, etc.
I have just in the middle of creationg a tactic, and i have noticed through the game if you make just small teaks, while watching the full game, you start to notice little things and change the way your teams plays to the way you want them to play.
I watched around 5 dull games, and the tactic i nowe have seems to be working so far for my team.
take a 4-3-3 with 3 MC's, FL/R's and FC, no arrows.
CB mentality 8
FB 12
Mid MC 8
MC's 12
Fwd's 15,
then link CF, CD, Passing accordingly, and in Team Instructions set PS, Tempo, TW and DL to 7, rest to 13, or 14.
All MC's set as PM's, and FC set to TM, and look at his best attributes for setting TMS.
This should get you going pretty good, then tweak indeed minor things, according to opposition, but more important, your own players...
Just change to 5-3-2 attacking - direct passing - quick tempo. when the match is in preview - confuses the F*** out of the opposition - well seems to do for the first 20minutes - then just change to normal mentality, mixed passing and normal tempo once youve scored 1 or 2 goals. stops the rut and then play 442 again for 10 games or so
