It is puzzling. Maybe the manual should have made it more clear. I guess its the new way of showing a dip in form that goes with the consistency stats.

| Not too sure how old Drogba is, but until he went to Marseille he was no better than average and i'm sure he was over 24 when he moved.

| Well, I'm seeing a lot of change: namely, down. As I write this, I've just opened Justin Hoyte's page and his attributes have also plummeted.

There goes the attributes of yet another young player: this time, it's Vincent van den Berg...the problem is even worse with young players (under 20) than it is with older players.

I've been testing how often this happens in FM Genie Scout (I don't use it for anything else) - and in FOUR days (no injuries or even tiredness), Aliaksandr Hleb's scout rating went from 77% to 71%, his attributes uniformly dropped by two (including determination and influence), and he went from (according to FMGS) being the best player in the world to being the 11th best player in the world in his position.
Can someone please explain.

| Cleon, I seem to have this issue at the beginnings of seasons...
Everybody comes back for pre-season, alll green arrows and doing well...
A month or two into the season, every attribute seems to go down a point or two. Granted, after usig FM Genie to check CA/PA, most of the are close to their PA.
My main question though is why do attributes drop even though these players have not been injured, not been played while unfit, consistently rotated squad, 5 star coaches, and the best training facilities.
Your (and any other knowledgable person's) perspectives would be highly appreciated...
Cheers.

It's not just at the beginning of seasons, either. I'm half way through the season, and Hleb's attributes just spiralled downwards without warning. He's still my side's best performer (5 MoMs from 11 matches), but I'm at loss to explain it.
A theory of mine is that it's to do with the way that abilities and attributes are interrelated in 07. In 06, attributes were defined relative to the CA. For example, let's say a player "Bernhard Schlink" has a passing attribute of 7 and a CA of 100. If I hypothetically increased his CA to 150 (instantaneously), his passing attribute would increase to 11.
However in 07, attributes are defined as absolute values out of 100, as far as I have learnt. I've done a bit of experimentation with on 06 this morning with FMM, and noticed that in normal training patterns, the relative attributes dropped slightly when the CA went up - but the equivalent absolute value went up. That doesn't happen in 07. If I had a mechanism of doing the same experiment with 07, I could lift Schlink's CA to 200 but his attributes would remain the same. So perhaps, the attributes are falling but the CA increases.
That doesn't explain everything: it explains very little, because it doesn't always happen that way. Have other people also experienced this problem?

| Yes, FM Genie isn't accurate 100% of time Quote:

| Don't compare FM06 training with FM07 its different the way it works. While the principles are the same, the way stats rise etc are not.
As for Hleb, maybe you over played him? Or he reached his CA again, therefore needs different training to maintain his stats he has. While the old schedule might get him to his CA, he might need a different approach to keep his stats he has?

| I presume you mean PA. His CA is 10 points off his PA, and I've been slowly upgrading his schedule. I rest my first-teamers every three matches, or more often if the matches aren't important ones.
In this case, I didn't use Genie to justify myself - only to prove a point. The fact is that the scout rating will go down if the attributes go down. Small fluctuations often don't show up - but when the attributes drop by that much, it makes a splash. I saw the attributes go down in the game, and I saw the scout rating simultaneously go down.
