Does showing opposing players onto their weaker foot make a real difference?

I rarely do this, but in my last game thought why not, and when playing Pompey away in my tactics put Benjani and Downing to show onto their weaker foot, and we ended up winning 4-0 and both Benjani and Downing were subbed after 55 mins.

Just wondering if anybody implements this tactic and if it makes any real differece?

I do for wingers, i.e Right sided player, show to his left foot and vice versa. I would assume that a player with a weak left/right foot wouldn't be able to cross effectively

Also, if the opposition has a real technical striker, showing onto their weaker foot would somehow maybe reduce his effectiveness at shooting. Maybe though

Agreed. I do the same. Helps prevent crosses

If a player is Right-footed ONLY.

is it better to shove onto Left foot or Weaker foot?

Does showing opposing players onto their weaker foot make a real difference?

It's no use having a squad full of star players without a decent way for them to play their football.
