I was wondering whether anyone has had good experiences with Mikel Arteta?

I am in the 2010-2011 season with premiership champions Middlesbrough, and had Hargreaves and Huddlestone playing in the middle of a 4-4-2 formation last season with a defensive centre mid pairing but attacking wingers.

This season I paid 13.5M for Arteta from HSV as he is a more attacking minded midfielder and quite flexible on what position he plays. So I was wondering whether anyone would give me some experience of what he is like? Is he worth playing more often than Huddlestone-Hargreaves in the middle?

i play him on either flank and he's a legend, scores goals and makes alot more...might be abit light for a cm though.

i play hhim wide when im everton. usually, creates alot and pops up with a few goals as well.

Right wing, attacking, avg 7ish. Anywhere else he's under 7. Signed him as Barce, Chelsea and Leeds, and always the same. Good squad player, but like someone else on here says, never performs as well as in the real thing. Wierd, cos his stats are good.

Left wing for me in 2011/2012 with Sunderland.

Great season for the lad, got 20 odd assists and a few goals, cost a lot of money but well worth it. :thup:

Good buy, underrated i'd say on these forums as he's ultra versatile and doesn't tend to break the bank.

I just bought him from relegated everton for 8mil for my spurs team and I really like his versatility and consistency. He's pretty good at set pieces too. Tried him in the center but plays better in the wings. Very good player.
