Was sat at home last night wondering wether to carry on with my Barcelona save on FM08, when I had one of those moments when you feel like going back in time (you all know the feeling!) So i decided to look through some old games of mine as you do...was looking through them when I saw a cd out of its case hmmm whats this i wonder?!? I turned it over and in all its glory was a classic CM 99-00! I went straight ahead and installed it on my laptop, started a new game with my home team Southampton. Had legends like Franni Benali Jason Dodd oh and some guy called 'Matthew Le Tissier'
So I start my first match and remembered that you actually get to see the ground your playin at what a fantastic feature! Game kicks off and I had totally forgot about the sound quality on the game also. I do love the new games but why can't something so simple be put into the newer games? Sort-it-out-si!
I always remember feeling like I was at an actual game with all the chants and atmosphere! You can actually download the background pictures for FM but you can't really read the text!
For FM 08 I'd even settle for pictures of the City of the team, or even a road sign! (seriously!!) - it would add atmosphere. As long as it is not going to cause text reading problems which I suspect is the main drive for SI ditching the feature.
Anything downloaded unofficially is probably going to give some clarity issue. Would like to see the green grass back as background, or (idea pinched from the PSP CM5) a blue sky with the floodlight peeking into the bottom corner - amazing idea I thought.
