Regen's Stats

History

Seeing as this is in the Welsh Premier, I mainly focus on finishing and composure. Thats why he got into the first team and start scoring at such a young age.

Lol, thanks.

As I said, I really doubt he'd have developed so quickly in a decent league, as he wouldn't have been good enough to play in the first team as soon as he hit 16.

Anyway, I've been looking throughout my squad and have noticed a few more players who look like they have bags of potential. For example, 1 player is already playing in the Welsh U21 squad at the age of 16.

Now, as I said in my first post, until this game I've never had a decent regen, but this time I've had 4 players through my youth squad who seem to be going places. So, I thougth I'd post the attributes of those regens and keep you up to date with thier progress

Michael Chapman History

Came into the first team at the age of 16 and has been scoring about 2 goals every 3 games. Has made 6 appearences for the Welsh U21s and has been in the Welsh senior squad since the age of 19. Is wanted by Charlton, Birmingham, QPR among others. It's worth noting that after just 3 and a half seasons, my coaches don't think he'll improve mush.
---------------------------------

Nigel Cunningham History

Only 17 and already playing for the Welsh U21s. Has been on the game for about 18 months now and is now a back-up player for my first team. According the my coaches, he has the potential to be much better than my strongest centre back. Is wanted by Scottish 1st Division team Airdrie Utd
---------------------------------

Sheringham
History

Been on the game for 18 months, and has played the odd game against weaker cup opponents and played when my first team were hit by injuries. At the age of 18, he is also in the Welsh U21s
---------------------------------

Calvin Owen
History

Only just came onto the game, but is the the top scorer for my reserves. Again, only 16 but already playing for the Welsh U21s. My coach with 19 Judging Player Potential says he's going to be better than my current strongest striker, Micheal Chapman.
---------------------------------

Obviously, only one of those players has proven himself to be a great regen, but I'll keep you updated so we can all know if it's actually possible to not just have 1 star player through the youths, but multiple talents

These tens players are all what i can find the best regens in my 2013 games,(DC can't jump, and GK very weak in balance and agility), does anyone work fine on their regens?
Every player has to have some weaknesses. When we watch players in real life, managers hopefully build tactics and give player instructions to minimize our ability to see the weaknesses. For example, a striker may be a particularly poor finisher with this head. Knowing this, the manager looks for a strategy to ensure that the player doesn't find himself in a position to head the ball very frequently. However, if the player does head the ball every so often and score with a relatively easy header, his attribute will be rated very high by the researchers. But in reality the player's heading should be very poor.

And certainly centre backs with poor jumping are observable in real life. However such players usually get switched to being full backs or sometimes defensive midfielders at some point in their career.

Not all Goalkeepers have to be very agile and have good balance. It's up to you to judge whether the player's weaknesses are going to fit well within your style of play.

If you can upload larger versions of the pictures we might get a better idea of the players about whom you are complaining.

Physically, you'll have a player with 20 for balance but only 6 for strength and vice versa, 20 for work rate but only 2 for stamina etc.

Mentally you'll havbe someone with high work rate but low determination, someone who is highly temperamental but a great professional etc.

For some reason, a regen's physical and mental stats are TOTALLY random and often paradoxes occur that make the player difficult to play with.

Surely if a player had such high balance, he would have strength of at least 13 you'd think.
You really need to learn what the attributes mean before criticizing...

A player can certainly have a good balance mainly because he is short and near the ground but he doesn't have much upper body strength. You don't see this sort of difference in players that are in the game very often because it is usually difficult to determine whether a player falls down a lot due to his lack of balance or lack of strength in one on one situations.

You can have a player who is hardworking on the pitch and does everything he is supposed to but doesn't necessarily have the determination to do well for his team. Again these two are difficult to disentangle without getting into a player's head to measure how determined he is.

You can have a player who is temperamental but he is a great professional because he looks after himself off the pitch and works hard in training. He simply loses his temper quickly. The two attributes have essentially nothing to do with each other.

I agree that the stats may not NECESSARILY go exactly hand-in-hand with each other in any given case, they do most of the time. You may get the odd donkey like Heskey who is strong but falls over a lot, but even then, he'll have around 12 for balance.

A fair amount of the regens (at least on CM03/04, the last game I played in depth) have literally 20 for strength and 2 for balance, and other such oddities, to the point it puts me off signing them. They don't look like the players that exist in the game already.

Perp, I completely agree. In real life a player can have a 20 Balance and a 2 Str. All it means is he gets pushed around a lot, but just doesn't go to ground. That type of player with a high work rate would likely be entertaining to watch as he would never quit on a run of play while getting tossed about.
