Considering SI will probably not change the fact that their going to have two different screens for the Inbox and News why not combine the news with the awards.
If any of you have player Fifa Manager, although it's not a good game it does have a good news screen. It's like a pop up, with the latest news, team of the week, goal scores and many other awards.
I think it would be a good idea to have it like this as it would be much easier to find things, and compensates the fact that they split up news and the inbox.
I get all te items pertaining to my team. Why would I want to know player of the month etc if my players aren't included? The selection system and player search system account for us being able to view players and determine if they are good or not, team of the week etc is just a quirky addition which is frankly pointless.
^ Many people want to know about the Player of the Month regardless of which team he plays for, as well as the major transfers that go on in your league. It's just part of being immersed in the game world. If that's not why you play the game, that's fine, but a lot of us like to be totally immersed, and segregating the Inbox from the News took away a lot of the immersion.
We should at least have the option of seeing them in your Inbox, in order to reduce the number of clicks in the game (which is already quite excessive...another example is that you have to click an extra time at the start of every match if you want to see the Split View. Why can't the game remember that i want to see the Split View by default?)
I agree with Chas. I'd imagine it wouldn't be too difficult to have a list of options of news items to be included in the inbox.
Having said that, I understand why SI would have seperated the two screens, but I personally would like news of the European Cups, of big transfers and of firings in the big clubs.
