BTW, I remember from the commentary area that that was bugged as well. Things like many offsides and disallowed goals were very frustrating. It happened so often I always waited 5 seconds to see if it was really a goal at some moment

Everyone seems to be ignoring the fact that you can choose the commentary only option and thus you don't need to worry whether the game itself is better now, as you can choose either route.

On a side note, I know this is betrayal but I am curious, has anyone used the Championship Manager 3D engine and is it any good?

I played the cm 2008 demo. The cm engine is awful, and not only the engine. HOWEVER, it looks pretty cool that tilted pitch. Just what happens and how it plays is terrible.

when the match engine first arrived I was gutted because I was an old school player - played the game from the very beginning so for the game to have such a big change it was a shock to the system.

However over time I have grown to love watching the players play rather than just thinking of how they would look, so you have to hold your hands up and say well done to si on that one.

They just need to bring the patch out now for Friday and that will be my weekend sorted!

As Pim1984 says, the Champ Man engine is awful and far behind the standard of FM, regadrsless of the problems FM may have.

you are quite right, and I did use the commentary only option for quite some time - however after a while I thought I would try the key highlights option and although I wasnt a big fan to start off with , once I got used to the change I enjoyed it

Do we know when/if SI are planning on developing the 2d match engine, into 3d perhaps? In a few years the realism could be excellent.

They need to stick the Pro Evo match engine in there, just imagine....

It's a bit like asking whether TV was better when it was black and white. Sure, you could have great entertainment and the content was somehow the same, but the colour experience is visually richer and more engaging.
