This is ridiculous tbh ive always said "yes it happens in real life" and "it could be your tactics" however im starting to go against what i thought this is just ridiculous.



And if anyone thinks its my tactics tell me what tactics you think im playing for this to happen and we will see what im actually playing

If it's just happened the once, I don't see this as a big deal.
If it happens every game, then maybe you have a problem.

Its happened in every game but two one against Lincoln which everything went in and one against Arsenal where i rarely touched the ball.

Is the missing lots of one on ones with keeper thing a confirmed bug because if so then its definately that because most my chances are one on ones if not then i struggle to explain it.

Unlucky results happen. I was quite pleased to see yesterday that they happen to AI teams too though.

I'd been chasing Arbroath all season and with them away to a very in-form Dumbarton and me winning my game I thought at last we'd be able to move above them until I saw the results: Dumbarton 1-6 Arbroath! Sure Arbroath had 19 shots on goal, but so did Dumbarton. Infact their stats were very close in terms of number of chances. **** happens!

It is believed to be a bug and is documented countless times on this forum. Over and over and over and over and over again.

It isn't considered to be a bug. However, SI are toning down the number of long shots taken - especially by players with high creative freedom.

In this posted example, the problem is not easily identifiable unless you can say what shots were taken. Lets be clear about this, it is easy to have a tactic that gives stats like this (i.e. lots of shots at goal). This trick is to get a tactic that increases the opportunity for clearer chances and hence a better shot/goal ratio. If you don't have a good tactic before the patch, it still won't be a good one after the patch.

Having said that, please note that I did say that SI are toning down long shots so it will make some difference - but not huge.

si want to be doing more than toning it down(what a joke) if the one on one isnt fixed i am never buying again...ive even resorted to not playing the game till the new patch comes out, so far i bought the game on release and its gathering dust, so in fact the game will be six months old before its truly playable( f in fuming now).

The one on ones problem for forwards is nothing new to CM/FM. And if the scoring effectiveness of one-on-ones was increased, would you be happy with games ending 23-17?

SI have moved the engine on in FM08 and now the creative forward players are great because of the time SI has spent on getting the positioning and creativity more accurate to real life. What they need to spend more time on however is increasing the effectiveness of the defensive qualities and skills so that fewer chances are created. Only when they do this can they then increase the probability of one-on-ones being scored. Doesn't that make sense to you?
