I've been a great fan of the FM series for about 4/5 years now and I love the game but i'm really struggling with the new version

I'm managing Newcastle, 2nd season, bought in a lot of players. My usual line up is:

Given,
Chimbonda, Taylor , Enrique , Mosquera
Emre , Makelele , Huszti , Kranjcar
Anelka, Frei


And i jsut can't win a game, i've tried nearly every tactic I can, 4-3-1-2 worked well in season 1 to an extent but early in this second season I can't string a result together and i'm conceeding about 3/4 a game.

I've tried tactics off the net, everything. I've allways considered myself quite a good FM player but now i'm doubting myself!


My basic settings are
Normal mentality (player mentality = Cb = very low , WB slightly higher)

Direct Passing
MEdium Tempo
Tight Marking

I'm out of ideas, could anyone give me some advice before I snap the disk in half!?!
