Isn't that what you do by transfer listing them?
But what if you want to offer a player about without transfer-listing him?
For instance, saying that you are open for offers for an important player, who you would consider cashing in on?
(When you put a player on the list it should work like this too, but I'm not convinced it does)

FM2009 - A simple change to offering players Post #6
In a less flipant response; I tend to offer players I want to sell out on loan, drums up loads of interest. Then reject all offers and transfer list him at a reasonable price. Seems to work well unless said player is too old or on stupidly high wages.

That's if you want to sell.
I'm also thinking of players you'd listen to offers for, if the money was enough.
Or you may not want to set a fee, just judge interest.

i like this idea.
although perhaps the game should understand that if you offer the player around and the offer price is his actual price that this hsould be a basic circulating of his availabiliy.
when i do that at the moment some clubs say that it's too much money, i'd like to see them come in with an offer as well.
