I downloaded a skin for FM2005, installed it as per instructions but when I went to change the skin in the preferences the game froze.

I then ended the game by the task manager and restarted the game but the game would not load just got a black screen after the credits at the begining.

I ended up having to re-install the game and patch.

Did I do anything wrong or was it just a dodgy skin?

sounds like you installed it incorrectly im afraid mate.

When you extract the skin make sure it looks like this:

fm2005/data/skins/[skin_name]/etc...

and not

fm2005/data/skins/[skin_name]/[skin_name]/etc...

I did install it that way but I have downloaded another one and it works fine....thanks for the help. :thup:
