FMScout works by reading saved games. So if I can have access to FMScout's source code, I'd be able to make a save game editor. If one knows how to read from a save game, one can also write to it! And just as Cato said, Nygreen is the only person who shared his source code for everyone. And of course, there are some others with save game source code. Most certainly SI people. But I doubt they will ever make it public.

And there's a real need for a save game editor. For example, second nationality or favourite players/staff. Quite a few people want to edit those values.
Mind Compression people uesde to be able to edit some of them in memory, but not for FM2005. I can't be sure they couldn't find it for FM2005, but no such editing was available for MCFM. But those values are very easy to find and change in a save game. Nygreen did even put it in a very early version of his CMScout.

But the scout doesn't read the data in the same way. There are large portions missing that it doesn't need to know. Such as clubs. It (FM Scout) has no idea how much money Manchester United have in their kitty at the save game point.

With all due respect, Dan, but it's not the point. The point is that if someone has already done a lot of work on the save game structure and is willing to share it, it would only help me. Besides I can see from the old source code that Nygreen mentions all other data he doesn't need for the Scout, but then simply skips it.

I don't how your programming abilities are but the old source code is still available at Sourceforge. It's in Delphi and is not hard to follow.

That's great - it's like me scoring a goal in week 1 of the season, then week 12, 14 and 15 then say I've been scoring for 15 weeks! I think I'll try that .

Frankly, this whole discussion is rather pointless. I don't think Michael Nygreen will ever make his source available once again. He never reacts on questions regarding FMScout on either his own website or this board.
So I think the only way is to do the whole work myself again, which will certainly only slow down the process of making the save game editor.

Besides, I don't think I will able to find the 'magic' formula which converts -127/127 values for some person attributes to 0-20 values. FMScout does use such a formula, but the old algorith SensibleDan also used before, has changed.
