Hi, I hope somebody can help me out here, coz I've buggered my game up.
I used the editer and I've made 2 new players, edited 1 club (capacity, money, added those 2 players). Loading up previous games is fine, no problemo, and I can play them with no glitches. I tried to start a new game, but it won't let me. Obviously there's something wrong with the database, as it tries to load it but the screen just shuts down. I saved all the changed data on server.db, or something like that.
I've tried to list all the information possible, maybe it helps? I duno. Can anybody help? I JUST WANT TO TRY OUT MY NEW PLAYERS! IS THAT SO MUCH TO ASK FOR!!!? (Sorry, I'm getting a bit emotional!).

Please help me if you can.

Oh, the game I did this on is FM2005 with no updates. Version 1.0 I think.

Ok, you need to get the backup that you should have made and copy it back to the database directory.

If you didn't bother to make a backup, then first you should stab both your eyes with forks for being so short-sighted and then reinstall the game (or repair if that really works).

For some people, the db directory is:
CProgram Files\Sega\Football Manager 2005\data\db

OK, I've stabbed 1 eye but not the other as I'm 99.9% certain I made a backup - it even asked me whether I wanted to or not.

No. But I just uninstalled it & reinstalled it. I saved all the games I had too, which I'm guessing is a bonus. Now to work out how to properly edit. Do you think I edited too much? The game works slow as it is and obviously finds it difficult. I've read about it as well - don't edit too much. How much am I allowed to edit? Anyone know? Don't want my game blowing up!

It's not a case of editing too much or just somebody's name, the 05 editor wasn't great and was quite fickle. I'm quite confident that this editor is quite stable although there are bound to be one or two minor problems. That's unavoidable.
