I was interested in looking at the best chairmen in the game but it seems you can't filter on non-playing stats in the editor. Is there any way I can do this?
Thanks

I think more or less the reason for looking at chairmen's (and other board members) stats is that they play a very minor role in the game and the only skills you need to really know about is how good they are at keeping you in your job.
I would try FM Scout. Off the top of my head, I'm not sure if this can access chairmen stats but I know it can access stats for non-players such as coaches, scouts, physios and aunties, uncles and grandma's.

I'm not bothered about seeing their stats in-game or anything - I jusr wanted to be able to filter on those stats...
The version of FM Scout I have (3.22) doesn't show staff and there doesn't seem to be a newer one available. I wanted to look in the database rather than a save game anyway.
Thanks anyway.

No. There isn't a way. And honestly, there doesn't seem to be any reason for you to need to!
Determining who is the 'best' chairman in the game (by whatever standards you deem to be 'best') is a futile excercise as you can't transfer chairmen between clubs.
My guess is that the best chairman is one who gives his manager lots of money and time do do their job. In that respect, Abramovich comes pretty close (apart from giving time).

I was intending to look for a good chairman in a smaller club but never mind.
As for there not being any real reason to need to, I don't see a real reason to not have non-playing filters when just about everything else is there.

Not everything is there. You can't find out the shoe size of a player.
Again, there is no real reason for having chairmens stats! There are just some details in the game which would be pointless!

I think you're missing the point, Dan. The stats are there, you just can't filter from them. That is, the chairmen do have stats (and they're not pointless because the game uses them), it's just that nobody ever added any filter rules for them.
The new version of FM Scout will have nonplayer filtering, but I don't think the FM2006 editor has it yet.

But why would someone want to filter them? That's what I can't understand! Maybe it's because it's 2 in the morning. I don't know!

I wanted to filter them so I could see a few good chairmen to work for in the lower leagues. The same would apply to other non-players whose stats you can't filter on (i.e. coaches)
By your logic, why would you want to filter players' stats? I never have done in the pregame editor...

| Because you can erm... Buy players. You can't buy chairmen. They're just forced upon you.
In the end, you're right. This is a stats game and essentially, you should be able to check all the relevant data in it.
