Well im Yeovil in league one, in my first season... I know they arent that strong a side and I expect things to be tough, but Im having a lot of trouble scoring, although I create a lot of chances in a game, sometimes 10 without a shot on target!
I play a quick tempo, defend quite deep and counter attack. My strikers are quick but their finishing is poor, I cant seem to get anyone in that has good finishing and pace.
One of the problems might be that those chances are mostly shots from distance, because your strikers seem a bit isolated. Please report back with more info
Play them with split mentalities (14 & 18 is my favourite). The stronger of the two can Hold Up Ball in the deeper role, so FWRs rarely for him, and often for the higher mentality FC. Lower CD fot the deeper FC, keep it high for the higher mentality FC. I assume with your tactic you are Pass Focus Through the Middle as you have no winger. If not do so. Change the sarrows for MCs to darrows into the AML/R positions for the MCL/R so they offer more support and increase FWRs to Often. Could be worth toning down their CF at that level too. If you want to take advantage of the FCs' pace, then direct balls for a TM (higher mentality) to run onto could be useful.
Ive made those changes and its certainly improved things. Ive just put barrows on my full backs to see if that will tighten things up in defence although my defensive record is fairly good.
Im still having trouble scoring goals.... any more ideas?
